Taiwan’s eastern county of Taitung will hold the 8th edition of Taiwan Open of Surfing, which will run from Nov. 26 through Dec. 9, as well as the World Longboard Surfing Championship this year in the tied island Jinzun.
Jinzun is one of the top destinations to surf for its first-class waves and low-latitude coastal terrain. As the host of the Taiwan Open of Surfing for eight consecutively years, it attracts surfers from all over the world to participate in the event every November.

For the first time last year, Jinzun was selected by the World Surfing League (WSL) to host the World Longboard Surfing Championship. This year, Jinzun becomes the first place to host two surfing championships at the same time.
Since the launch of the Taitung Open of Surfing in 2011, it is Jinzun’s goal to host the World Junior and World Longboard Championships. By hosting the championships, Taitung will become a destination for the world’s top surfers and elevate its status in the global surfing communities.
The WSL Junior Championships will invite domestic and foreign competitions to Jinzun, including global surf stars Joel Parkinson, Gabriel Medina, Jordy Smith, Sally Fitzgibbons and Laura Enever. Domestic surfers will be competing in several games, including men and women’s longboard, men’s shortboard, domestic team long and shortboard.
Visit Jinzun to see the most anticipating surfing championships this year or register to compete with top surfers from around the world. Registration forms are available for download on Facebook page.
