Year after year I come to CES to have all my senses offended with the most shameless pitches of grossly overhyped technology. The same music just different tunes – one year it’s 3d TV, the next year it’s smart home, augmented reality, drones, 4K, 8K, etc, most of them to be forgotten the next year. Very few things go mainstream and make it to the real market, the mass consumer is not that sophisticated. Tech overuse is increasingly addressed by psychologists as ticking “time bomb”.
“8K UHD is definitely the most eye-catching display technology at CES 2018. Visitors were electrified by the world’s first ever 75-inch 8K product, whose chips and system are independently developed by HiSilicon, directly supporting for 8K decoding and 8K pixel-to-pixel display, and display panel is made by BOE. Backed by BOE’s unique ADSDS display technology, the product has a high resolution of 7680×4320, a 100% NTSC color gamut, and the capacity to display over one billion brilliant colors. Anything captured by a camera can be displayed in real time on this product”. from BOE press release.
Heading to to the Nikon booth in Central Hall to watch presentation of the new AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR super-telephoto zoom lens.
